Mobil Oil, Beaumont, Texas

The Beaumont refinery used Universal Dynamics to implement the "Breaker Control System" using a Modbus Plus network. The control system software was divided into tasks and priorities and then brought implemented at logical stages or checkpoints. All tasks were designed with the necessary "hooks and handles" with full consideration of overall requirements for smooth integration.

This SCADA system network controls 24 substations from a single, central location. The implementation of a "select before operate" philosophy greatly improved system reliability. Mobile has subsequently expanded the system to over 40 substations.
