Universal Dynamics signs multi-year BrainWave agreement with international glass manufacturer

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 20, 2001

Richmond, BC

Universal Dynamics Technologies Inc. announces the signing of a multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement to supply its BrainWave process controller to a major international glass manufacturer. The company will use BrainWave to upgrade the performance of its glass manufacturing plants around the world.

BrainWave is a Windows NT/2000 Professional based process controller. BrainWave uses patented modeling of process dynamics for control in the manufacturing industries. BrainWave is an advanced process controller that significantly improves the performance of all processes, especially thermal ones involving heating, cooling and drying. BrainWave's ability to greatly reduce variability in glass melting and forming operations is the reason for its rapid adoption by the glass industry.

BrainWave technology is typically implemented in a few hours to days as compared to months for other technologies. Existing plant staff can install and support BrainWave. Specialized and expensive support services are not needed.

Universal Dynamics' BrainWave controller typically reduces product variability by 50% or more. This lowers plant production costs and significantly improves product quality. BrainWave is known as the "Smart Cruise Control for Industry".
