Feasibility Studies

Universal Dynamics offers its customers the ability to perform feasibility studies funded either privately or through the economic development agencies of various federal governments to:

  • Evaluate opportunities for improving the existing operation
  • Evaluate new technologies and markets for building a customer's business in a new market segment
  • Develop options for dealing with the environmental clean-up from historical spills and waste disposal practices

Universal Dynamics has been the primary contractor for studies funded privately, by the US Trade and Economic Development Agency, and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. Under the government funded programs an industrial firm can apply for a grant to evaluate actions to improve their economic and environmental performance.

Sample Projects include:

  • A privately funded study of a Latin American chlorine producer’s plants to examine the potential for cost cutting while improving the system reliability. This study led to various capital projects at the plants.
  • A privately funded study to compare the economic performance of a Latin American producer’s chlorine plants with their competition.
  • A feasibility study funded by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency for a Canadian chlorine producer to evaluate switching to membrane cell technology while reducing the cost of production and improving environmental compliance.
  • A feasibility study funded by the US Trade and Economic Development Agency to examine the potential for building a new membrane cell chlorine plant in Azerbaijan.
  • A feasibility study funded by the US Trade and Economic Development Agency to examine improving the existing operation and expanding the production at a diaphragm cell chlorine plant in Poland.
