Optimizer
The Recaust Optimizer improves
white liquor consistency, and causticizing efficiency through the use
of more reliable instrumentation, advanced regulatory loop controllers
and an expert system.
Pulp mill recausticizing systems are typically
characterized by long response times and feedforward variables on the
regulatory control loops. The Recaust Optimizer uses the BrainWave®
predictive adaptive controller loop controllers, to reduce process variability
combined with reliable low-maintenance process sensors and an expert
system that calculates optimal set points and keeps the process operation
within normal bounds.
System benefits include:
- Consistent white liquor quality with
variability reduced by 30% to 50% and lime mud content less than 30
mg/l
- Higher pulp production through more
consistent digester cooking

lime use and dead load combined with a decrease in make-up chemicals
