Universal Dynamics provides training courses at your site or ours. All training course fees include one-hour travel time; additional travel will be charged at the trainer's hourly rate.

New Miner Training - Core Competencies

Employers are responsible for ensuring each new miner receives no less than 24 hours of training, and at least 4 of the 24 hours must address site-specific hazards. Universal Dynamics provides a new miner training course which addresses the core safety requirements for miners and can incorporate site specific hazards.

  • Mine Site Hazard Recognition Policies and Procedures
  • Statutory rights of employees and their representatives at the Mine Site
  • Authority and responsibilities of supervisors and employee's representatives at the Mine Site

Annual Miner Refresher Training

Mining employers must provide each miner with not less than 8 hours of refresher training on an annual basis. The refresher training must address changes at the mine that could adversely affect the miner's health or safety, and other health and safety subjects relevant to mining. The annual refresher course offered by Universal Dynamics addresses health and safety subjects that are relevant to mining operations and can include site specific changes at the mine. The refresher training will address the following items.

  • Hazard Communication
  • Lockout/ Tagout
  • Accident Investigation
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Confined Space
  • Fall Prevention and Protection
  • Hearing Conservation
  • Emergency Response
